PTSD Recovery Program for Male Service Members and Veterans

About our Program

Strong Hope is a 30-day inpatient trauma treatment program for male veterans, specializing in Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Military Sexual Trauma (MST), combat-related trauma and childhood trauma. Strong Hope has separate programs for male and female patients, who all must be either active duty service members (including guard and reserve), or veterans. Our dedicated program staff tailors individualized treatment plans around each patient’s unique mental health needs.

Male Veteran PTSD Program Features

Our unique men’s trauma program features a wide range of therapy and treatment modalities, including but not limited to individual therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), moral repair groups with a chaplain, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), recreation therapy, expressive therapy, yoga, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), music therapy, art therapy and pet therapy.

Eligibility

Male veterans and service members who have experienced trauma are eligible for the program. This includes active-duty service members of all branches, National Guard, Reserve and veterans. We also accept service members who have other mental health or substance abuse diagnoses; however, treatment programming revolves around processing trauma. Our program is voluntary, and patients must be willing to dig deep, feel hard emotions, do the work and be motivated to truly heal.

PTSD Treatment Program for Active Duty Males

The majority of the patients in our male-only PTSD program are active-duty service members. Our program requires a referral from a military treatment facility (MTF) or VA, so the mental health clinic at a military installation or unit. If you have questions about requesting a referral from your installation, or if you are a provider and have questions about submitting or authorizing a referral, just give us a call at 801-850-1982.

PTSD Treatment Program for National Guard and Reserve

Members of the National Guard and Reserve are eligible for our male veteran PTSD program as well. Our program requires a referral from the mental health clinic at a military installation or unit, and in the case of National Guard and Reserve, the service member must be put on active-duty orders in order to receive treatment. This is usually facilitated as part of the treatment referral process. If you have questions about requesting a referral from your unit or mental health provider, give us a call at 801-850-1982.

PTSD Treatment Program for Male Veterans

We also accept discharged male veterans into our PTSD recovery program for men. Our program requires a referral from a VA. If you have questions about requesting a referral from your local VA, or if you are a provider and have questions about submitting or authorizing a referral, just give us a call at 801-850-1982.
